I’m Alexis — the girl you’ll usually find head to toe in flour and food coloring — and the proud owner of Signed & Sown Bakery.
What started as a love for growing cut flower bouquets and painting event banners quickly blossomed into something sweeter. In the summer of ’24, when my flowers weren’t quite ready for the local farmer’s market (and I discovered that paper banners and Midwest wind are not a match made in heaven), my homemade baked goods stepped into the spotlight. And let’s just say… they stole the show.
I’m beyond grateful to be where I am today. I was raised by strong, hardworking women who believed in the magic of baking — especially my mom, who turned her passion into a business that carried our family through so much. While I may not have mastered balancing a checkbook at a young age, I did learn the sacred art of properly measuring flour so your cookies never turn out dense. Priorities, right?
True grit, heart, hustle, and a serious love for sweet treats were baked into me early on — and I carry that into every single order.
When I’m not in the kitchen creating something delicious, you can find me working full-time in the agricultural industry crunching numbers, spending time with my soon-to-be hubby, Ricky, traveling somewhere new, or doing a little “quality control” at TJ Maxx (for research purposes, obviously 😉).
I adore a good challenge, thrive in the tiny details, and believe desserts should taste just as dreamy as they look.
